Visual Arts

ASB has a highly integrated visual art program from the ECC to the high school. In the early years, all students are given the opportunity to learn basic studio skills. In the secondary school, they apply these skills to a broader variety of media. Grade eleven and twelve students who opt for the highly rigorous International Baccalaureate Visual Arts program master the fundamentals of visual art through intensive studio and investigative work.

Music

All ASB students study music from ECC through middle school. The main focus is on composition and performance. Students can also choose to participate in music electives during grades 9 and 10. The ECC has Halloween, winter and spring concerts and elementary students perform at their own winter concert every year. Students from grades 5 through 8 may participate in the choir as an after school activity. Students in grades 3 to 12 who already play musical instruments or who want to showcase their singing, dancing or other talents may audition for our annual talent show.

Drama

Drama is taught to high school students as an elective. It is also integrated into English, Spanish and Catalan classes at various grade levels. For example, fifth grade students of Catalan perform The legend of Sant Jordi on Sant Jordi Day. Students in extra-curricular drama clubs in all divisions have the opportunity to perform for classmates, teachers and parents at the end of the year.
